Re: Hid ?

You will need a 9006 kit for the headlight lows and a h10 kit for the fogs. I suggest a relay harness for each lamp. Xenondepot and tcm glx are both vendors here and can help you with buying the complete kits. there is also a couple how to's for installing both in the how to forum

Re: Hid ?

you can but it would technically be illegal bc your housings are reflector and HID needs projector to keep from scattering and blinding other drivers

yup. at first I thought they werent that bright but Ive realized they actually are, definitely brighter than stock and they have more side scatter which lights up the surroundings while the cutoff remains the same

this second pic i altered so you can see the light signature on the door, the brighter side (right) is the HIR you can see it is centrally significantly more intense

Are you happy with them?? I want to get a nice set of HIRs for my highbeam, but I have no idea which brand or bulb to go with...Is there a specific HiR brand that has a more crisp white output then the stock crap I got now

Re: Hid ?

I got mine here, theres only one company currently producing them (i think its philips) just as the site owner and he'll tell you. Yes I am definitely happy with them and the high beams especially are much brighter in appearance since the central area of the light is more intense. I was overly critical of them when they first arrived without having given them a road test, which flipped my opinion entirely.

Re: Hid ?

Scottina06 usually has a set of OEM's for sale.... check him out.... I bought a set from him for my '08 and they are a beautiful thing... Interestingly enough, the higher the kelvin temperature of the lamp, the less actual light that is emitted on the roadway... so be careful what you put in.....

^^ I just completed my OEM HID conversion, and I love it! The projectors provide a nice even light pattern and cut off so they don't blind other drivers. I had HIDs in my Ranger I had before the Jeep and people would always flash their lights at me because of the HID scatter caused by the OEM reflectors. Also, if you are looking for the best light output, I would stick with 4300K or 5000K bulbs. They output the most usable light compared to other color temps. The OEM is 4300, and it's plenty of light for me.
