HID dim bulb contections...did I screw this one up?

I just installed a 6500k Zenon Depot Xtreme HID kit into my 05 GC. There were two separate connectors that passed through the gromit that get plugged into the rear of the headlight housing. One contained the bulb and the other a connector, with two prongs in it. The other end of the wire that attaches to the bulb passes through the gromit and separates into a two smaller plug connector. I plugged this into the matching connectors that lead to the ballast. The problem is that I could find no place in the headlight housing for the other larger two prong connector to attach to at the rear of the headlight housing, although in plugs into a connector that leads to the ballast on the other end like the other plug. Because I could find no place to "plug this in I cut it off so that I could get the gromit up tight to the housing. My HID lights work but they don't seem to be as bright as I expected them to be. Did I do something wrong here or was that connector an added one for a different application that is not needed in the GC? Unfortunately the instructions in the kit did not indicate how to connect to the headlight housing. I suppose "common sense" was expected out of the customer but I sometimes lack in this. Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: HID dim bulb contections...did I screw this one up?

I know exactly what you are talking about...for the fog H10 bulbs, they come with a rubber grommet and have an extension for your stock fog light connection. I cut the grommet off too, and you are left with the bulb and another extension that is not needed...unless you need to extend your stock fog light connection to the ballast. The same is true for the lows...If it is what I am talking about, nothing is f'd and you didn't do anything wrong...hope that helps

Re: HID dim bulb contections...did I screw this one up?

These were for my dims. They were the 9006 Xtreme HIDs, unless they sent me the H10 fogs in error but I doubt it. I simply could not find a connector for the single (larger) two pin connector at the rear of the headlight housing. Only the bulb itself fit into the opening. At the other end of the wire attached to the bulb, and that passes through the gromit, it splits into two smaller plugs that I attached to the appropriate connectors that lead to the ballast. The only thing is that there is also a connector for the other end of the larger two pin connector that leads into the ballast as well. This connector is has nothing plugged into it as I could not find a connector at the rear of the headlight housing for the other end to plug into. Sorry I cannot post a pic as I am as close a thing to computer illiterate as exists today. I still don'y know how to get messages off my cell phone that I have had for three years.

Re: HID dim bulb contections...did I screw this one up?

I was giving the H10's as an example as I installed them last week, my lows were installed a couple months ago...so for the 9006's, did you have the bulb and two connections for the bulb to the ballast AND a cable that was through the grommet that appears to be an extension that is not connected to the bulb?

Re: HID dim bulb contections...did I screw this one up?

Yes that's it. An additional single connector with two pins in it that passed through the gromit as well but, as I said, did not have anything to connect to on the rear of the housing on or near the opening for the dim bulb. The other end of this connector also plugs into the ballast at the same place as the smaller two head connector that is connected.

Re: HID dim bulb contections...did I screw this one up?

Turns out, after I spoke with Steve at Xenon Depot, that the additional connector is there in case someone want to bypass the relays in their installation then they acn hook it up diectly to the factory headlight connector. I didn't screw up here by removing it from the gromit. Still unhappy with the "brightness" of the 6500ks so I'm going to the 4300ks. Thanks for all the help!
