So this morning my HID kit finally came it after about a weeks wait. I left work and got home to start the install.
The box tagging along for the ride, I had to pick it up from the local post office cause no one was home to get it when they tried to drop it off.
I did not take any install pics but it was SUPER easy, just put the bulb in, attach the bulb to the ballast along with two other wires, and hit the stock plug for power, took less then 5 mins per side. Attaching the ballasts was another story because of the semi short cord length and the lack of anything down there to mount to, but I got it and was done!
I went with the 55w 3000K hid's and and VERY VERY VERY happy with them after taking it out tonight, they are SUPER bright and light up the road all the way ahead for a long distance, here are a few pics, kinda hard to get good pics but I tried.
Looks like two different bulbs cause of the angle I took the picture at, but they are both yellow, this show how bright they really are with JUST the fogs.
This is from the same spot with the fogs and head lights, my headlights are not even noticeable now when they are on, and if I turn the fogs off it feels pitch black!
And last but not least these are two pics of the light output, it was hard to get the effect on a camera but I did my best, the first shows the color and the second is with the exposer turned down to show the range, thats my neighbors house which is a good distance away.
And you cant see it in the pics but it lights up EVERYTHING, not super bright but enough to bounce light off of everything, even saw a dear long before I would have before! Im very happy with the purchase, I let them run for a little over an hour while I was out tonight and they were just warm to the touch so I foresee no issues with the lenses melting. And just for whoever will ask, I drove behind a friend tonight and he said it is not to bright or distracting at all!
