Horn Dead - Need Replacement that works with Alarm

Well after almost 150K miles my horn(s) have finally failed. Awhile back I tried a few replacement horns bc the OEM ones were starting to fail (due to getting water in them bc of their poor factory placement), but I found that they would not "honk" when the doors were locked, I'm assuming bc their is not enough juice sent to them to activate them. I even installed a relay on one set, but that didn't work either.

Has anyone installed an aftermarket horn(s) that still works when the doors are locked? Not looking for a train horn or anything of that magnitude - just something a little louder than stock.

Re: Horn Dead - Need Replacement that works with Alarm

I haven't with the jeep, but I did use one of the "Help!" brand ones years ago on a 80's Oldsmobile with good results. I've heard (pun intended) good results from the hella horns also, but not on my auto's.
Also, "Go Dawgs". Been a while since I've lived in GA and been able to say that.

OK, disregard this post - actually have a different issue. Horn still works, but not with alarm. Want to check to make sure that function was not turned off before reposting.

Good question. I confirmed that the option had not been turned off, so basically I have a functioning horn that will no longer honk when the doors are locked. Anyone know what might have caused this? Fuse? Relay?

Do the lights still flash with lock/unlock?

Yes - that is now the only way I know the doors locked when walking away.

Go to the menu on your instrument cluster. That's how I can change it on my Jeep. 05 5.7 limited

Maybe try turning it off, then back on again? Of course testing it in between to make sure that off is off and on is on... I hate to think that it would get switched where off would be on and on would be off , but I've heard of crazier things!
I don't know of any fuse or relay to control that.

Decided to move this thread to the troubleshooting section:

Horn no longer works with door lock or remote-start

Moderator, feel free to lock this thread if you like.
