How do you jack it up and fit the stand in?

So Im shopping for a new jack. But I have noticed something on my WK that I want to discuss.

When i want to get the front right off the ground to say grease my woody links, i use the lift point directly under the side mirror. the issue is I cannot get a stand under that area no matter what i try as there isnt enough space to get the stand under there at the same time the jack is there..........

so what do you guys do?

Re: How do you jack it up and fit the stand in?

I put my jack on the recommended lift point and my jack stands (I used two 'cause I was scared) at a space a little further back (towards the rear) It was a flat area. I can snap pics when I get home... it worked for when I was changing the pads.. lifted one side at a time.

Re: How do you jack it up and fit the stand in?

what I am asking is this: using IRFs pic, if you look at number 1.

it points to the rail where there is a downward facing bulge in the rail.

-----|____|------

i lift it from that point and I also want to put my Jack stand at that SAME point and the jack's wheels or something is always in the way.

Re: How do you jack it up and fit the stand in?

Put some 4x6x12 block of wood under the jack then start jacking it up and you should be able to get a jack stand under it.

Re: How do you jack it up and fit the stand in?

the lift height is NOT my issue.

its getting the jack stand under the same aarea as my jack.

Re: How do you jack it up and fit the stand in?

I had the same problem the first time i lifted the front of my wk. I just repositioned the jack to the farthest point forward on that section of bulkhead, and then i had room for the jackstand.
