How does the auto headlights work?

How do I get the auto headlights to work? Do they have to be calibrated to recognize the sun or something. I had my my dealer check them out when they activated the fog lights and they said they activated everything that was available on the computer. When I put it in the auto position the headlights turn off and nothing else. I hope this isn't a worthless feature. Help.

Re: How does the auto headlights work?

Are you tring to have the fog lights on with your auto lights?

Just turn you lights on auto and push the button for your fog lights and it should come on when it gets dark out

I installed the sun sensor on the dash and the auto headlight/fog stalk and I believe thats all that was needed on the hardware part for the auto headlights, I took it to the dealer and they supposidly activated everything that said disabled.I may take it back to the dealer and have them check it out again.
