DRL - cheapest insurance you'll ever get. I'm amazed at the vitriol aimed at this obvious safety feature. If DRL only saves you once from that old fart pulling out their driveway it has paid for itself many, many times over. Aficionados whine about DRL -- which has very, very little effect on bulb life -- but will happily slap in Sylvania blue-tinted über-Brights which rarely last longer than 9-12 months (according to their own literature no less); or worse, expensive HIDs which introduce maintenance headaches all their own (not to mention high voltage systems under the hood). < eyes rolling >

The last post prior to yours was six years ago. Could be that attitudes have changed some since then.

Re: how to disable DLR ? HELP PLZ

On some you can turn them on/off with an Autel DS708.....cost less than $1000. I've had one for over two years now and will will do most things the StarScan can do. It won't however turn the DRL's on on my 06WK.....built in U.S.A., but it did turn them on on my 05 LX....built in Canada. There is an item for it in the WK menu and the program runs, but it will not turn them on. It comes up and says it is the wrong Country Code and asks if you want to change it. It also says once the Country Code is changed, you can't change it back so, since I don't know what all would change, I won't mess with it.

Starscan won't disable them unless you want to reset to factory settings & lose all your tweaks & remaps. I know this because I changed the build code on mine to Canada to enable them & ignored the warning saying something like 'this cannot be undone'. Thought it was rubbish & went ahead. Find a dealer with CDA though & you can turn them off, change their location to other location such as fogs, sides etc, change voltage to make them duller & even turn off the drop out feature

Ha ha sorry, just trying to be helpful & just clocked how old the original post was. My bad
