Stroker Kit or, Ported TB, Exhaust, I also heard Superchips might be making one for the 3.7L, CAI, Turbo!

Re: How to increase power output on a stock 3.7 V6

The 3.7 internals can not handle a turbo or any forced induction. Stick with the bolt ons- ported tb, cai, muffler etc...

Smile Re: How to increase power output on a stock 3.7 V6

Cold air intake, exhaust, ported TB, powerwire, high performance spark plugs, and a 180* thermostat-all will help. I wouldn't bother messing with the internals, there's no way you can squeeze much more power out of the v6 without having two extra cylinders. If power is what you want, test drive a 4.7 v8 and a 5.7 hemi and see if thats what you want, theres no way the v6 will ever match the v8 especially the hemi.

High Performance spark plugs can damage the Stock Pistons. It can lead to other problems too. Just saying....

on a 4.7 or 3.7, don't bother unless you live in EXTREME heat (south Florida, Arizona, SoCal, etc) or are running some sort of tuning software. Any one of you that are running SCT, B&G, DSP, Superchips....you need one ASAP.

the thermostats can also be modified for lower temps by drilling the housing of the stat.
this was located on another thread about this. I haven't done it as we barely reach 95-100 degrees in the summer.

Re: How to increase power output on a stock 3.7 V6

Air Ram has ported heads for the 3.7 in either economy or performance prep.

Re: How to increase power output on a stock 3.7 V6

overall I have found that If i really wanted more power than a jeep with a 3.7, i shouldn't have gotten an jeep with it. Of course I would love to have a 5.7 or 6.1 but when I was purchasing I couldn't afford one. Yes there are small mods that can be done to add a few HP here and there but overall its a V6. If i have a strong need or demand for more power i am going to have to go get a jeep with a 4.7, 5.7 or 6.1.

I did just get a ported TB by Ryan and its awesome. I want to get an intake. I have the powerwire also. After that I have to say that my jeep is going to be as fast as its ever going to be without major modifications and $$$$

I think if you do the basic mods, intake, TB, PowerWire, and exhaust, you'll be happy with the gains.

Just my opinion.
