Technically, NOT TRUE Scott.

THOSE Vreds he has ARE summer tires, but they do make DEDICATED winter tires.

Re: How would I handle in the snow?

I got stuck in the snow with my worn down stock all season tires last winter even with 4wd quadratrac and when I did finally get it moving I was all over the road. Now that I have Dueler A/T's I drive through everything. =D

Re: How would I handle in the snow?

This is what you need: no chains, all-season tires and a phone call when you get up to Tahoe..

Here's the rundown on the way it works up in Tahoe: 2wd = Chains. AWD = Snow Tires. 4x4 = You're good to go. But usually hwy 80 and hwy 50 are bone dry and usually (even this season) chains haven't been required on those roads.

If you have a Mustang, bring the chains, if you drive a crossover, bring the snow tires, if you drive a Jeep.. bring the fun

The others have commented well on the vReds ... /thread

But as far as the Vreds, low profile or not...one look at those treads tell me you're not getting very far in snow with them.

If your stockers have some good All Season tires on them, even after being stacked, you'll be fine.

If not, get some dedicated Winter-only tires (Snowtrac 3's if you prefer the Vred brand).
For any 4x4 I have heard that you only put chains on the rear wheels, is this correct? I still have the stock rubber on my 2007 GC. Thanks everybody.
