HVAC Selector/Divider

I searched around a bit and found a couple posts on it, but nothing that was all that definitive. When I select 'DASH' for my HVAC, I'm still getting air on the FLOOR (06 WK LTD HEMI). Per the posts I was able to find, it sounds like it could be: a) the actuator motor, b) the geartrain for the diverter/actuator, or c) the diverter itself being hung up/bound. Does anyone know of the best way to play detective on this one, without replacing parts in a random fashion? I imagine I should be getting a certain voltage/current at the actuator motor, so I could check for that to be sure the signals even getting there, but, beyond that, I'm at a bit of a loss.

Re: HVAC Selector/Divider

In case anyone ever runs up against a problem similar to mine as outlined above, take off the lower dash panel on the driver's side, locate the 'arc gears' (rack gears of sorts) for the lower heater level (one yellow and one white). They are made of plastic and ride in a groove of sorts in the duct housing. If one binds up out of that groove, the arc gears no long make contact. Simply push/pull the gear shaft back to its proper location and then throw some lithium grease on the teeth and shaft so you don't get a repeat performance. I took some pics, but my phone blew up the next morning. If anyone would like pics, I wouldn't have a problem taking a couple more.

Cheers.

Re: HVAC Selector/Divider

I'm having the same problem, but mine also will not go into recirculate mode.
