Re: I Found a Shop That Can Replace WK U-Joints…

I am thinking of going to a local place Dennys Driveshafts. I will post the email I got from them if you guys can verify what they say sounds right. Email Below

Comments:
Hello,

I was looking into replacing my stock driveshaft on my 2006 Jeep WK because my current one is vibrating, I am looking at one that I can replace the U joints on and with the stock you cant. Since I am local would you need me to stop by so you can measure or do you already have the stock measurements? It will be a pleasure doing business with a local company.

-Frank

Response:

Sir
The design that you currently have is one that we do not have an exact replacement for. We may be able to help but the flange at the transfer case will need to be changed to a Double Cardan CV style.

Is your truck lifted and if so how much lift?

Thank You

My response: It is a stock jeep no lift.

Sir
We will need to know the spline count and seal diameter for the yoke mounted to the transfer case to see what is available in a double cardan CV style. Can you remove it?

Thank You

Re: I Found a Shop That Can Replace WK U-Joints…

I am thinking about it but it seems a bit above my head. I will have a mechanic friend look at it for me.

Re: I Found a Shop That Can Replace WK U-Joints…

Why not just buy this one and no need for any adaptors?

2005 2010 Commander Grand Cherokee New Steel Replacement Rear Driveshaft | eBay

He does it for the other models as well and will even do a custom length which I what I am thinking of. No one in Australia can build me one without adaptors.
