Re: I now hate my WK more

There is a plastic tab that holds the intake muffler/volumizer to the engine. It broke with the littlest effort.

I am a Jeep Guy. I sold my XJ a few years back....I want it back.

Yea..things break, when you do something stupid. Removing an intake off a 3 year old vehicle wiht 45K miles should not break.
These only break when you dont take them off right They mount differently in the 3.7 than all the others and it is easy to break the tabs if you dont put the muscle in the right direction. My grand has 187k miles on the clock, the last 22k or so were me and I have done a pretty good job of enjoying the V8 and beating the crap out of it off road when I get the chance and other than some self induced rattles in the interior (it was almost silent when I got it at 165ish) NOTHING has broken upon my dissassembly and I have had it further apart more than most on this forum have had theirs.

I dunno how one can say its cheap plastic... its fairly thick. It might not look that great to some, but I think it looks good. Mind you this id my first new(new to me) car. I am glad for one that I got talked into getting one with a v8... god i love that sound

sorry... they may be nice seats but are CLOTH, Ill take my crappy pleather with heated seats ANY day of the week ha ha. I will say Being a large guy and bending over cars all day (or being bent over by them, however you want to look at it) I use it as a heating pad to soothe back pain after a long day at work than I do to warm my butt on a cold day and it does wonders... after my 30 minute drive home on a tight back without it I can hardly stand up straight when I first get out, and with it I dont even notice its bothering me.

Nope, I think its more in the 750 range.

Anyway, others mentioned it, move on if your unhappy. Personally I LOVE mine and will drive it until I cannot afford to fix or do not want to fix something that breaks, then I will park it and possibly begin other projects with it (maybe new axle(S) type of thing).... BUT, if you dont, get rid of it, find something you do like!

Get a V8.

Learn to remove parts properly so they do not break.

Stop whining.

I had a WJ 4.7 V8 for 7.5 years, only problems I had were window winder and two valve seats, that was expensive to fix, but it did 180,000 Klms. Best vehicle I have ever had, that is why I'm waiting for my new WK2, only about a week to go.

Didn't like the WK, so have waited untill this new model to upgrade, I plan to make this one last 10 years, I got the Overland so all the fruit.

Rgs,

Nigel

Re: I now hate my WK more

My trans blew up at the tune of $3100 6 months after I bought my Jeep AND I completed all 60k maintenance after I bought it, so I dont want to hear it! You really have had minor issues.

Re: I now hate my WK more

When it comes to the aftermarket, all I will say is money talks, BS walks....

As the "little guy" I'm in a position where I can put stuff out there, as long as I know it will sell. I have had numerous projects I have wanted to take on- 05-06 3.7 Manifold Porting, Pentastar Manifold Porting (as well as more ported TB's), 05-06 3.7 "Lean Cruise" tuning, etc- but the reception has been lukewarm at best, to silent. If I know I will have to sell for a loss, 6 months down the road, I simply won't take on the work to begin with- I'm busy enough as it is.
