Re: Intake Manifold?

If you have a 4.7 like in your sig still, it wont work, its for a hemi.

If you have a 5.7/6.1, dont bother, its runners are too big and too short to be of any good. Maybe if you're spraying a 200+ shot of dope...or cramming in 15psi of boost.

Re: Intake Manifold?

It is kinda misleading when it says $325...when you go to the options, it adds on another $599.

I miss my LS1 days...intake for $350, headers for $400, exhaust $400 and you are way into the 12s on just that alone. Another $1000 (or less) and you can be deep in the 11s.

The stock manifold is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. The 6.1 manifold has its benefits. Without things like gears or a high stall converter to multiply the tq present, torque is king in these trucks. Even though the manifolds are slightly different in design, I know plenty of Ram owners in the 12s N/A on the stock intake manifold. Apples to oranges perhaps but same weight, same running gear.

The Hemis are very responsive, it just takes a thicker wallet. With better OEM offerings in recent years and the used parts market becoming more and more plentiful, the cost is starting to go down significantly.
