Interior fuse panel help

My sunroof has fallen victim to the unable to close problem. I've done all my research and found out I can just pull the interior fuse while in motion to 'uncalibrate' it and then just hold the vent button to recalibrate it. Sounds really easy and seems to have a very high success rate. SO here's my issue.

HOW THE HELL DO YOU PULL THE FUSE!?!? I can't get my hands up there to pull it. I love how Jeep made a sweet, giant, easy to open panel, then there's steel braces in the way. Even coming from underneath in the smaller access panel doesn't help. I simply can't get a good grip on it and can't pull straight out.

Are there any tricks I should try? I've got a fuse puller, but just cannot get it.

I saw the TSB for the '06, mine's an '05 and I'm not paying the dealership to pull a fuse.

Re: Interior fuse panel help

Alright guys, after calming down a bit and actually asking the wife to help, she was able to get her little hands up there and get it. It's working fine now.

Now what do I do when she's not around? I guess at least no critical fuses are there...

Re: Interior fuse panel help

I am pretty disappointed with how difficult it is. The angles are all jacked up to see or grip the fuses. What's wrong with putting the panel in the side of the dash? Easy access.

I'm a big guy, but I've never had trouble like that. I installed stereo's for years and never ran across one so openly visible and still so hard to get.

Re: Interior fuse panel help

I am probably one of the biggest guys on this forum... 6'5" @ 300 lbs and I do this for a living! the straight tip pliers in the picture are the first ones I grab for when I need to remove fuses on the wk/xk

Re: Interior fuse panel help

I'm right there with you, 6'4" @ 320lbs. I even tried a set of long nosed fishing pliers, but couldn't get it. I could get about every other fuse from row 2 down, but that top row was a real pain.

I appreciate every tip I can get though. Work smarter, not harder!
