Sorry, just seems extremely childish to me.
I joke about it.

I'm pulling 15.9 mpg from my 5.7 (2wd) - that's better than most 3.7/4.7 members here.

I do too, a guy I helped set up a 5.2 zj for (ended up running high 12s) was asking what my economy tune was like. I replied "what economy?".

There just seems to be some that take a abnormal sense of pride in their fuel consumption. More power to them.

the ones who take pride in fuel consumption...........dont have to pay for it! funny....but true. Once they have to dig into their own pocket or bank account for $50 or $60 for a fill up....they may change their "tune" real quick...and I dont mean PCM tune.....

Re: Is this 4.7L MPG really something I have to get use to???

Im taking mine tomorrow to get an oil change hopefully that helps with the MPG some. I have been driving it harder since I got the muffler and intake and using autostick more getting it into the higher RPM's. I might pull one of my plugs and check it out also. Luckly I havent been driving it far enough to feel any big impact on the bad MPG right now since i've been working from home a lot. I was going to change my plugs myself but after hearing all the horror stories of reaching the back plugs I might just pay 100 bucks or whatever to have it done. If I didnt have to pay for my Jeep or gas i'd be dumping tons of money into mods especially a Supercharger but on a good note only 2 more payments and shes all mine!

Royal purple gave me better mpg than other synthetics; tried Mobil 1 and castrol full syn and RP is 1,5 mog better with the hemi. ALso runs better (butt dyno) and definitley sounds better.

Re: Is this 4.7L MPG really something I have to get use to???

My 4.7L with mobil one 5w30 oil, mods in sig, new job that i drive 70 miles round trip a day, cruise control at 65 mph i get about 20-21 mpg highway according to an evic reset highway only travel. Slow the speed down when you are on the highway and expect that type of an average. City evic travel its 12-13 mpg. No surprise there.

Is using one of those 19.99 oil change specials a bad idea? Will I get crap oil?
