Slow the speed down, when you are on the highway and expect that type of an average. City evic travel its 12-13 mpg. No surprise there.

The best i've had on the highway ever was 19mpg and that was really trying, like coasting a lot and drafting 18 wheelers but I generally do about 85mph and average about 15-16mpg. Hopefully new plugs and oil will get me back up to about 13mpg in the city which I use to have.

Re: Is this 4.7L MPG really something I have to get use to???

I used to be a big believer in the expensive oils,,,

I use Shell Rotella T synthetic now. 20 bucks a jug, so my oil changes cost about 35 bucks per 6k (I change it about once every 2 months on avg) miles.

You people that spend upwards of 60 bucks per oil change and change it religiously every 3k are burning money.

I change my oil every 6k with said oil a mopar filter. My mileage results have been consistent for a while, i am not doing anything different then what i got posted. My mileage is consistent at 100 miles on a new change and at 6000k before a new change.

yeah...especially using those high priced synthetics....you can go 8-10k miles...but i would have an oil study done first...then slowly increase 2k miles at a time...havinga study done each time. RP and amsoil advertise 15-20k oil change intervals dont they? I use Mobil1 ext perf. 5w-30 and i like to stay in the 7-8k or 6 months change intervals according to the analysis' I have received.
