I think not having the H/K system in the Overland was a major misstep. That's a major thing that its competition offers that it doesn't (a stereo that is better than "good").

I didn't like the WK2 at first, because I preferred the WK styling to the WJ. But it's grown on me as my tastes have changed. I like the more subdued and classy styling of the WK2 and WJ over the WK now.

The WK looks better as a toy, but the WK2 is a better classy vehicle. Considering the WK2 is aimed much farther upmarket than the WK, that's a good thing.

The Harman system will remain exclusive to the SRT for 2013 models. It will be offered on the 2014 Summit edition.

Re: Jeep Blew It...

i agree with the people who said it looks like the updated version of the wj which i think is still classy looking even a decade after its release. I love my wk dont get me wrong but the wk2 is one sexy truck. its like jeep took the wj and wk and combined them. it has the sleek lines of the wj with the attitude of the wk. my only complaint is the rims on the lower models suck (in comparison to the overland at least) but rims are easy to replace. i dont really see where it doesnt have the classic jeep feel to it, in reality i think its more jeep than the wk in a lot of ways. jeep was about being the best off roader "go anywhere" the wk2 is one of the few "trucks" out there that can still do that (talk to owners of the new ford explorer) if you want the jeep feel and feel like its watered down in the wk2 which in a lot of ways it is you should buy a wrangler thats the ultimate jeep, the wk2 is like the jeep for grown ups where the wrangler is the jeep you take to the trails (although the wk2 can follow right behind if you wanted also) .... the fact that people dont think it looks like the wk is a good thing it means jeep is taking risks with design, something some other automakers should try *cough* honda *cough* toyota.....

Re: Jeep Blew It...

I personally would not own a jeep if it was not for the new body style.

Shouldn't you have posted this since you own a 2000 model?

Ok, ok I get the point; keep your opinions to yourself and eyes to the front. Turns out I don't hate the WK2 after all.

I think the WK2 looks more like the WJ, but either way i like it! Just can't afford one.

Re: Jeep Blew It...

I like the wk2 better than the wj style it is light years better. But I like my WK better than the new WK2. The think I like the best about the WK2 is the interior.

Re: Jeep Blew It...

I will chime in just to post something. I think it is a good looking vehicle and by the numbers of them I see on the streets so do a lot of people.

I have had jeeps for a long time but always used jeeps. I started with a CJ7 in 1988, then a cherokee, then another cherokee, and now a WK.

The main reason why we have Jeeps at my house is not the styling or the finishing touches, for us it seems to be the only mid-sized suv that has a decent amount of power for towing and does not cost a fortune for a use car. Also, my wife is more comfortable driving it than the larger SUVs.

Probably in another 5 years when we wear out our 2005 WK we will be looking at a WK2.
