Ive got an opportunity to get a set of 5 BFG MTs on MOABs for $900. Only 100 miles on them, and I want to pounce on them, but will these fit my WK with a 2" OME lift without spacers? Could I just trim the bolt, or could I clear without any modifications?
Yup!!!!!!! get them fast. Only thing you have to get is 1/4inch spacers for the rims to clear the calipers... if you don't want to do this.. gimme the info and ill buy them!
As far as the bolt.. you should be ok.. but trimming it and doing the pinch weld fold isn't hard and you gain alot of clearance.
Where can I get these spacers? What are the best, and is the pinch fold mod, and trimming the bolt necessary? If so, are there any threads on doing so?
Uh... spacers need to be wheel and hub centric, I have to dig around to find a set. Im dead from work today lol. I'll reply tomorrow when I can if someone doesn't chime in till then
So are they really needed? Either way I am going to buy the wheels, and If I need Spacers later, then I will buy them. Now the debate on what spacers, and where to get them, and in what size?
They are needed, otherwise the wheel won't fit. I can't seem to find the site where you can make a set of spacers to the thickness you want...or place that has 1/4 inchers...sigh.
i got my spacers of ebay and you really only need 1/8" spacers to clear the front calipers u dont need them in the rear if you get thin spacers 1/8-1/4" you wont need to do the pinch weld
So Ive decided to go with the Hybrid Duratac by Goodyear. Im going with 245.75.17s because it is mostly a daily driver. OME Kit is on the way, and calipers are painted! Now, just to get the interior detailed, and maybe an Okole Seat Cover kit in the future
I'm running the Duratracs in 245/75 on the stock wheels and an OME HD lift. While they will fit without spacers, I was not happy with the ~ 1/4 inch clearance at the bolt. Added 3/8th spacers, and it's all good. Only have a small amount of rub on the frame at full lock nine
Bah, I run Rubicon 255/75R17's on Moab rims on stock suspension and no spacers. It barely rubs the plastic of the fender liner at full lock, and it clears the bolt if just barely. I had to take a bit of material off of the outer face of the brake caliper, but I don't have to run spacers to make the rims fit.
