Thumbs down Re: Jeep Recall

Had 4Lo issue. Service 4wd message. Dealer updated today with latest flash update. Dealership in Wrightsville,Pa did not charge me for the update but told me it was out of their pocket Chrysler/Jeep did not cover. Dealer told me they could have charged me but out of courtesy for me they did not. I contacted Jeep Cares, since I had a case open on this issue. They confirmed that they will not be paying the dealership. The CSR told me the update has nothing to do with the N23 recall, therefore they will not pay the dealer. I told her I did not agree, we have had issues with our 4wd system and transfer case since receiving the N23 update. Jeep is not taking responsibility for what they caused with the N23 recall and passing the buck to the owners and dealerships. If they didn't cause an issue why is there a need to flash update to correct a service 4wd warning and a loss of 4Lo?

Work order states they updated FDCM but yet Jeep Cares CSR said the update had nothing to do with the FDCM and stated it was not related to N23 recall also that they will not cover this as such. What a bunch of bull. I would like to know why they treat this as if every case they get is new to them and why they are not standing behind actual customer service. I don't need useless lip service and surveys I want results. Thanks to Susquehanna Dodge of Wrightsville, pa I was updated and my 4wd Lo works for now. What happens if it fails again? Did Chrysler Jeep/Jeep cares actually pay or help anyone with this or did the dealers suck it up at their expense?

Jeep Recall

I called over a week ago about my Jeep WK issues that I felt were do to the N23 recall. Jeep Cares took notes opened a case file but closed it the day I called on first contact. The rep told me to call two days before my next visit to dealer. I called Monday, the rep who answered seemed shocked that the case was closed the previous week and reopened it. Took Jeep into garage yesterday morning Service rep said Jeep never contacted them so I had my wife call yesterday morning to ask Jeep cares to contact dealership. Basically I get the impression Jeep Doesn't Care! Today after my Jeep has already been updated at the dealers expense now a case manager contacts me through email. Seems to me the case should have been left open and a case manager should have contacted me before my visit. Way to go Jeep Cares keep the time frame between issue reporting and resolution down by ignoring the customer until they solve the problem on their own behalf. Congratulations on your outstanding customer satisfaction reported numbers.. Pay the dealer for the work they have done to fix these 4wd issues caused by your recall. If that would happen us Jeep owners with this issue would not loose faith in your Brand and garages would be more than willing to help us.

Re: Jeep Recall

Once again I was contacted and all they care about is how the customer service rep handled and took my information on my initial call. All they care about is customer satisfaction reporting numbers on the front line. They don't really care about your vehicle being fixed after their botched recall failed. Anyway from their perspective there is no issue with the N23 recall or the update they originally installed. No ownership of the problem. Thanks to my dealer for taking ownership and fixing me at no charge. I still think Jeep should pay the dealer. It was not out of my pocket but an example of big corporate sticking it to the little man.

Re: Jeep Recall

I haven't been following this as close as I was before on this site or the other site. Can anybody provide a quick summary on the current consensus about this recall? I've been getting like one N23 notice every two weeks. Just keep trashing them.

Sorry for the profanity, but without reaching through the monitor and shaking you and screaming DO NOT DO IT! That's about the best way I can express how much I hate that the previous owner had it done and how fun it is to have a QDII and 5.7L with skidplates and all that crap that won't go into 4LO

Re: Jeep Recall

Here ya go. Even my dealer acknowledges that Chrysler wiped out my 4LO, but **** me, right?

Oh, well.

I love my Jeep except that it's always broken, and now Chrysler stuck their dick in it, too. Ridiculous. Buy something other than Chrysler is my best advice. They just really suck as a company, even if some of their products would be nice otherwise. Once I finally line this thing out, I really really hope I can have some trouble-free ownership for a month or two at least.

(Yes, it obviously won't work again after a few months. I have been using the "fuse pull" trick to get it done.)

Video of fuse-pull, not mine, but procedure worked like a charm to temporarily restore 4WD LO:

Re: Jeep Recall

I tried the fuse thing but the motor of the transfer case does not react ,event it seems that the jeep tries to get in 4 lo mode . can it be because it's an export model?
