Power is enormous from these mods ? LOL .... that intake, muffler and TB spacer all do nothing but make noise and empty the wallet, with worse than stock throttle response. Been there, done that and got rid of them. Get a ported TB, tuner with custom tune, catch can, and super voltage regulator, those are useful mods that make a BIG difference at all RPM's. There is no way you get close to that claimed mpg, increasing by over 10 mpg.

Thanks for chiming in dmsfun! Btw, in case you didn't see my post in your original Apexi thread, I bit the bullet and went the Mega Raizin route...hopefully it will be in this week and I'll be able to post results from my "butt dyno"...but unfortunately I'll have to fix my wheel speed sensor first so my Jeep actually rolls smoothly first!

Anyone here old enough to have heard about the guy who claimed something like 100 mpg on his new VW bug? Turned out his neighbor was adding gas to the tank ever night. The early beetles didn't have fuel gauges.

LOL if only my neighbors were so nice...My HEMI tends to be very thirsty all the time, though strangely less so now that I'm throwing premium at her...probably solely because the premium around me isn't watered down with ethanol like the rest of the grades are though.

On my trip the other day, I saw 18+ mpg on the gauge (that only averages for the last 30 miles) for the first time in a LONG time. Made me pretty happy

Yeah 27.7 mpg is not possible for an extended period of time. If you let your foot of the throttle and then record the mpg you may see 27.7 mpg but not for more than 5 mins. If you really were seeing those numbers your city mpgs would be higher too.

Angry Re: Jeep Recall

As an update, I got the left front wheel speed sensor (P1417 code) from the dealer and installed it with no issues this afternoon. I did the drive 20ft thing and voila all the diagnostic light went off! Couldn't have been happier...

UNTIL THEY CAME BACK ON AGAIN after I made a brief stop for groceries ...I went ahead and ordered the left rear sensor from O'Reilly as it's only $15 but this is starting to really irritate me. I didn't expect the lights to disappear and come back and give THE SAME CODE FOR LEFT SIDE WHEEL SENSOR (key trick). I'm entirely confused as to why the lights would go off and then come back later...strangely enough, this almost always occurs when I'm backing up and turning the wheel fully (not sure if that matters).

Any advice would be MUCH appreciated (sorry for all the yelling...it's been a long day).

Sounds like a software issue to me. Sometimes during the flash there will be an error and those bytes won't get across. What probably happened was the techs disregarded the message and just gave you the jeep back. You need to take it back to them and have it reflashed with same software revision. Might even need a new fdcm. Your "reflash redux 2" doesn't sound like they wiped it out properly.

Well the strange part is that the lights weren't on right away after the recall. I don't even know anymore. I'm going to replace the rear wheel speed sensor tomorrow when O'Reilly's gets it in. I'll be driving around a bit to make sure it doesn't come on again (if it even turns off this time). If this doesn't solve it, I'm going straight back to the dealer and filing a STAR report or whatever those are called. I made sure to have all of my notes included in my file when I came in for the "reflash x2." SO. PISSED.

Re: Jeep Recall

OK guys, fair warning to anyone who goes and gets this recall done after reading this. It turns out that my WK's troubles aren't the first my dealer has heard of. My Jeep is the second WK at this specific dealership to exhibit MAJOR issues after the flash, and the other WK is much worse off than mine (huge electrical issues, shutting down, all controls blipping, etc).

I've taken extensive documentation on this process, and the Chrysler mechanic says that Chrysler is "aware" of the problem, and that there was a problem with the flash that they pushed, but it's only sporadically affecting certain Jeeps. Unfortunately, they do not know what the issue with my Jeep or the other Jeep actually is. This means that the issue is likely at least fairly widespread. Supposedly they're going to start throwing parts at mine, which will start with electrical, then mechanical, etc.

The part that they're starting with on mine is the module and/or the actual actuator which engages 4WD in my transfer case. Unfortunately, this part, as with every Chrysler part anyone ever tries to order, is on national backorder. They tell me that AT EARLIEST they'll get the part by December 1, but of course, they have NO CLUE if that will fix the issue.

Until it's fixed, I'm in a loaner vehicle (Chrysler 200), which REALLY SUCKS because it's about to be winter here in MO and "there will be snow." I'm livid with Jeep right now and am starting to collect as much info as I can because I think I'm going to put my formal legal training to use, if you know what I mean. Basically, be warned, and FML.

Thanks for the detailed reports.

Hopefully they'll get things sorted out, and at least they are providing a loaner and are willing to work with you on things.

I have heard of others that received no help from the dealership and are eating the repair costs themselves (at least for the moment).
