Re: Jeep Recall

I missed my scheduled appointment to get this done last week. Glad I read this, as I'm now in no hurry to reschedule.

Re: Jeep Recall

Every time I shift from Rev to Drive I hear and feel a BIG CLUNK. Does not happen when I shift swiftly from Park to Drive, only Rev then Drive.

happened a few times now... put the jeep in gear, reverse or drive and there is a delay before it goes into gear, like 2-4 seconds...

the other day i rolled down the driveway in reverse and when i went into drive it stalled with a big clunk, almost like the tranny or transfer case kicked in and the torque converter was locked, because the motor stopped immediately...

this sound familiar to anyone ?

Yeah Enliven, that's the front diff mounts and bushings that are worn out. Common problem. Mine was literally lurching while driving and had the electronics going crazy.

Re: Jeep Recall

Do you have part#s for the mounts/bushings? I cant find them on RockAuto.com and would like to take care of this at the same time as I install the OME HD if possible...

I think I found it:

The dealer has told me that the recall application on the WK has been really hit or miss. My dealership has at least two, and they said that it's happening all over the country. Just count yourself as one of the lucky ones. I'm supposed to call back to Jeep corporate tomorrow and get an update. You can bet they'll be upgrading my Chrysler 200 loaner to a SUV so I can get back into the field and get my venison this season!

Basically, I'm pulling out all the stops, because this whole thing never should have happened. And Chrysler really isn't handling this situation the way they should.

Re: Jeep Recall

Update: the dealer called last night and now said this isn't the fault of the recall but it's actually the left rear wheel speed sensor. It's funny, because I already had talked to the mechanic about that and he said it probably WAS NOT that due to my process above with already replacing the front left sensor and having the lights turn off. Oh well, they offloaded my Jeep back to me and I ordered the rear sensor from them. It should be here tomorrow, and honestly if this fixes the issue, I'll be happy.

I just find it more funny that the dealer service rep was still trying to disclaim their liability by saying that the abs sensor is electronic and that has nothing to do with the transfer case module...and I'm like, um, THEY'RE BOTH ELECTRIC YOU RETARD.

This why I am not taking my Wk for the dealership to mess up my perfectly working jeep. If it not broke don't fix it. I hope you get worked out.

Sounds like they are just trying to get rid of you for the time being. Give it a shot, replace the sensor see what happens.
