Kicker upgrade on non premium sound system

I have searched the threads and have not found a specific answer to a question I have...
I have the (NON-premium stock sound system with no amp)
I want the kicker amp, tweaters, front and rear door speakers,
while keeping my stock head unit because I want to keep it looking stock.
I have had an aftermarket head unit in the past but it looked shitty so I switched it back to the stock head unit.
Is this possible and what are your opinions. Thanks guys!

Re: Kicker upgrade on non premium sound system

you can do the speakers, but not the amp. in your case i would just use an aftermarket speaker/amp setup

yep have to go aftermarket amp. you can use the kicker speakers, but you can buy other one's for less money with better quality.

If you realy want to keep the stock deck. just upgrade your speakers. i had replaced all my speakers with infinity kappas and the stock deck pushed them just fine. and they sounded so much better than thoes stock ones. and it leaves you room to upgrade later to a new deck, or amp them if you want to

So, after reading reviews, The infinity kappa series speakers have nothing but good reviews, and people are saying that I should put an amp to them to reach their full potential, Im thinking maybe running a 4 channel amp from infinity if they have one, any suggestions for the amp, im going to keep my stock deck too.

It really depends on what you want out of your system. If you just want a much better sound without allot of hassle the infinity kappa's play great off deck power. yes they will play better if you amp them, but it sounds like you you just want a better sound, so it's really not necessary. mine are still running off of deck power and they do play loud and clean, with great bass and highs. just check out my build on how they look installed. Butch's 2010 install and believe it or not I believe that the stock deck played them louder than the JVC is right now. and just remember if you install them and want more you can always amp them later and yes infinity makes a very good amp for them.

Re: Kicker upgrade on non premium sound system

my neighbor added the kicker speakers to his non-premium sound WK. It sounds really good and 100x better than the stock nonpremium speakers. unfortuanately...you cant add the amp...there will be no wiring/harness in the back for it, But the kicker speakers still sound a lot better than the stock paper speakers.

I actually have people asking me if I have aftermarket speakers in because It doesnt sound that bad, I dont bump very hard because its bad for your ears, lol well I cant bump with stock but you know what I mean. Im thinking butch's build is the way im going to go. Ill probably get a harnes/wiring and amp for it as well. I will post pics when I get this all done.
