Knock Sensor Problem...

My headers have fried my bank 1 sensor and I have relocated a new one on top of the motor, but I am getting a CEL. I'm assuming that it is not registering any input and thus causing the CEL. I can't put it back in the stock location, for it will suffer the same fate as the original. Can it be disabled via CMR tuning? If not, does anyone know how to ground it or otherwise trick it into thinking all is good to eliminate the CEL?

Re: Knock Sensor Problem...

I found some information regarding a bypass in a Honda forum...not sure if our sensors are the same type. It was suggested to get RCA cable and separate the two wires, hooking one end of the second wire to the unit and the other end to the ECU...the first wire would be grounded. Another method was to use a Piezo Transducer and connect it inline to trick the ECU into getting the signal it's looking for...
