last night i noticed that the drivers side pillar between the door and windshield leaked. it hasn't done this before but when i looked at the passengers side, there was a rust colored ring from what looked to be water. anyone know how to patch this up?

What he said.

It is SUPER common to have plugged sunroof drains on the WK, and the water runs across the top of the headliner and shows up in the overhead console and A pillars. I have also been told it will run off the c pillars and destroy the amplifier in the rear... Personally I have not seen this (have seen numerous blown amps, but none with signs of water damage).

Re: leaking inside

Mine leaked on both ends and took it to the dealer and they resealed/replaced the windshield seal...

Re: leaking inside

I had the same problem. I used hot glue to fill two small areas in the seal directly above where it was leaking. It fixed the problem, and has not leaked in months.

Re: leaking inside

I had same problem took out the headliner to find it was leaking from underneath the windshield... took out the winshield, fixed corrosion, added primer and re-painted, applied new urethane and installed a new oem mopar windshield with a new weatherstrip.

i hate when such trouble happen, so to satisfy myself, i threw in some new mods, like a black headliner and pillars, and i also sound deadned the whole rooftop before i installed the headliner again...

Re: leaking inside

You may want to check the TSB's. Not sure what year your Jeep is, but a TSB applied to my 05 and the windshield had to be resealed at the Dealership.

Re: leaking inside

wish i would have known this like last year. mines done it since last year. keep blowing it off because it only happens when it rains then i forget. so its just the windsheild seal? mabye water traveled down to fuse panel and thats why my a/c only works on high.

Re: leaking inside

on my 07 my windshield leaks or it did... i took it to safelite and had them take a look- factory windhsield was tight as hell, however someone got lazy at the factory and the seam between the roof a drivers side pillar had a shitty seal that you cant really fix. so they filled the pin sized hole and sealed around the seal that was in place from the factory on the seam. sucks but what can you do?

Re: leaking inside

For all of you whom had wither your windshield resealed or sunroof drains unclogged, were the repairs covered under warranty, if not how much did it cost you. I have the same problem with A-pillars and discussed it in a different post on here, however im not under warranty anymore. I took it in more than a month ago and a TSB was made on a sunroof gasket, that didnt do the trick ($38 bucks), and i re-calibrated myself. Just curious how much it will run me as I plan to take it to a different service center this time.
Leaks majority of the time from Pax side A-Pillar, sometimes driver side and once over the Home Garage buttons by sunglass holder. I ran water over the sunroof (it being open) near the drains and it leaked when I poured it at a fast rate. gotta feeling the drains are clogged our out of line. However the seal (weather strip) above my windshield is always loose and has been re-secured twice. The tech rep at the first service center thinks the windshield was replaced once, as Im the second owner since 13K miles, and was never installed correctly. however the problem started happening 3 yrs later since I got it, now at 45K.
Anyways if any of you have paid for the repair, how much we talking? thanks

Re: leaking inside

my windshield reseal was not covered under warranty- i called the dealership since the seal is a factory defect, and they said that unless its 3years/36000 they cant do anything about it. i think there may be a TSB out for the sunroof drains but the windhsield reseal shouldnt cost alot.
