Re: Leather on steering wheel

Mine was replaced under warranty without issue.
I waited until Just before the warranty expired to get it done to get the most out of it.

I think I'm replacing mine with a wood/leather wheel.

Re: Leather on steering wheel

Yeah mine does this too. I barely even put my hand on the 12o'clock position anymore, yet somehow it just seems to get worse. I called Chrysler to report this, but of course they won't cover it.

I can't believe in this expensive of a vehicle that this happens and is normal.

Re: Leather on steering wheel

At 55,000 miles mine still looks new. I clean and condition the leather part every time I detail the Jeep, and I always hold the wood section of the wheel.

Re: Leather on steering wheel

The 7-8-9-10 and half of 11 O'clock positions are flaking. It's bugging the hell out of me!

Re: Leather on steering wheel

Mine comes and goes, like it will flake for awhile then stop, it rubs off almost like rubbing an eraser on paper, it annoys the hell out of me.

Re: Leather on steering wheel

Replacing the steering wheel leather is a pretty expensive process I have found. If your willing to spend the money, the following websites seem to be a good place to have it done.

Re: Leather on steering wheel

Has anybody put on 08+ steering wheel with its airbag module on a 05-07 WK ?

Another option is to go to an upholstery shop and get higher grade leather than OEM for cheaper.
