Ok Guys I got a set of supports for the liftgate and did not pay hundreds of bucks for them. I got a set of StrongArm gas charged Lift supports at Advance Auto for 15.95 each. They look just like the oem ones. All it take is a T40 torx. The part number is 6104. I am so happy Here is a picture

what....the....fudge. seriously??? $15? whats the catch. someone come in here and tell me im not an idiot for spending $150 for the struts lmao

Sorry man, I too was not going to spend a arm and leg them so I kept looking for them on google and I found them.

guess that answers my question, i'll be sending back those overpriced struts as soon as they arrive tomorrow lmao. these have great reveiws.

I get all my struts from: http://www.strutwise.com/index.php. Frank is reasonable and will set them up any way you want. Bare in mind that as ambient temperature decreases, so does the pressure in the struts. Since I am in a relatively cold climate, I had him set mine up with slightly higher pressures. I highly recommend you check him out before you buy.

liftsupportdepot.com $11 for the strong arm supports; just got mine last week; there are 2 different types with the WK; mine has the torx bolts, while some WK's use ballstuds and clips.

hmm mines an 07 and does require ball studs (per j4j), does that mean the autozone ones wont work?

Well I installed them today in about 15 minutes. You will need to put some gease on the threads to make it easy to screw in and have someone to hold the door up do one side at a time. Need some help let me know.

I got those same ones from advance, and so far they have been working for a year in a cold climate. Mine had the torx bolts on them, but I think you can use either one. On the WJ, I bought some from car quest and they had the ballstud and clips, and they just went in the same as how the oem torx ones did.

Is the lift gate supposed to raise itself once you open it or is some effort required in lifting it up?

Mine currently requires me to help it get up, but once it's up, it stays up. I've always wanted it to have more pressure and go up without further assistance. If they're not made to go up by themselves, would it harm anything to put on some high pressured supports that'll make it lift by itself?

some pressure is needed. the window should open once you push the button though

Thex2, contact Strutwise and tell Frank what you're wanting to do. He can give you some guidance and also set them up the way YOU want them for your particular application and climate.
