Why slam it? I usually just put it down all the way, then press on it...click done...Am I missing something?

Re: liftgate flipper glass problem

well mine only does depending on where i push to close it. If i close it from the outer edges its like it just isn't lined up right but if i push from the center i usually dont have this issue.

Re: liftgate flipper glass problem

had the same problem on mine when i first got it, just spray a bunch of WD-40 and work the mechanism with your hand a few times then open and close the glass and spray a little more WD-40, haven't had a problem with mine since and its almost been a year.

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a go. I'd love to not have to slam the thing. I bought used and it's done it since day 1, so I figured that was just the way it was supposed to be.

Re: liftgate flipper glass problem

I had the same problem, I took the tail gate apart to readjust the catch mechanism. Problem solved. This was two years ago.

Re: liftgate flipper glass problem

Look into adjusting the latch as remmy said, its pretty easy. I haven't had any problems either since I move the latch outward a little.

Crestwood1001 is an unknown quantity at this point
All you need to do is push the glass down gently so its up against the latch and then give it a good push (like doing cpr) and it locks everytime, I laugh when I see people with WK's in parking lots slaming the hatch hoping it closes.
