liftgate flipper glass problem

it takes 2 or 3 attempts for to close the flipper glass window - does anyone else have this problem? it's like the latch is struggling to catch the window

thanks

Re: liftgate flipper glass problem

I would try spraying some lubricant into the lock mechanism to see if that frees things up.

I'm not sure how to adjust the latch/lock, but that is what I would check if the above doesn't do it.

Re: liftgate flipper glass problem

I have to slam mine, but it catches every time... assuming I use enough force.

Re: liftgate flipper glass problem

HA! Yeah, the wife's takes a good bit of muscle to close. More so after the new lift struts I put on. It does seem like it takes too much and you might break the glass sometimes.
It's not as hard in the colder months I've noticed. I think that's the case with any "lift support" though.

Re: liftgate flipper glass problem

the thing is, you don't need to slam it. if you close it too gentle it won't work, but if you slam it down it also doesn't work. you have to get the amount of power just right and it takes about 3 to 4 attempts on average! pretty annoying

Re: liftgate flipper glass problem

sounds like something on yours isn't working properly. If I slam mine, it'll close properly every time. Maybe your latch is stuck open or your button is stuck and is still depressed?

Re: liftgate flipper glass problem

Maybe hitting the mech with some white lithium grease or something would help.. If that doesn't work just slam it till it breaks

Re: liftgate flipper glass problem

I've never had a problem with mine. Think you guys are overthinking this if you can't use a basic feature on the lift gate. :P
