lighter cover/power outlet cover

My 2005 Grand Cherokee is missing the cigarette lighter cover on the left hand side of the instrument panel. My aux outlet has a cover on it. Anyone know what the part number is for the cigarette lighter cover? It appears to have a plastic "strap" on it as well in pics I've seen. I'd appreciate any help and I've looked on Ebay for them.

Re: lighter cover/power outlet cover

I need one too, I was just gonna buy the lighter from the dealer instead. But I would prefer that cap.

Someone stole mine too! I blame it on the critters that also steal 1 sock and leave the other.

Re: lighter cover/power outlet cover

i can tell you guys its near impossible to get the strap on one replaced. you need to remove the lighter thing from the bezel and put the rubber on, then re-install. and removing it is a BEAR!

I would recommend one with out the strap for ease of installation.

Re: lighter cover/power outlet cover

Mine wasn't in the vehicle when I bought it, so not sure how oem is, but it doesn't appear there was a strap holding it on, or somebody did one fine cut! I thought maybe it had smoker's package, but didn't see it on the buildsheet (maybe that was a stealer option tho). Anyway, I just hooked up my radar detector there for the time being, but wouldn't mind having a cap or a lighter when I hardwire the detector.

Re: lighter cover/power outlet cover

I'd take a cap without the strap if someone knows where to get one.

Re: lighter cover/power outlet cover

Ya the ciggarette one on the left didn't have a strap on mine either. If it did, I wouldn't have lost it! Lol

Re: lighter cover/power outlet cover

Not from this guy I wouldn't considering it's used. I just want the part # OEM so I know how much it costs.

Re: lighter cover/power outlet cover

BTW - I am not sure what the oem plug looks like, but I bet you could go to a good hardware store and find one of those plastic "end caps" that pop into the ends of tubing, etc...

something like these:

I may just go to mcmaster-carr someday and buy a complete 12 VDC accessory outlet with a HD cap already attached...something like this (p/n 6860K2). Although if you don't have an account or get things cheap there, they sell them all over the place.
