I'm looking at buying a loaded 2007 Grand Cherokee diesel with 100,000 miles. KBB says in very good condition it's worth $11,450. I offered $11,500 but he still wants $13,000. It is lifted so KBB doesn't account for that. Is KBBs price to low? Is he asking way too much? Do diesels have a high demand that can fetch a premium over the KBB value? It seems that he is asking a dealers price or slightly less.
Diesel prices vary throughout the country. some places are cheaper and some are more expensive. depending on options and trim the price can vary as well. There is a dealer near me that has had two listed for over 6 months that are way over valued for what they are and they will probably be there a lot longer. Also time of year does factor in. In the NW fall and winter see an increase in prices of SUVs due to demand. Not knowing what trim and options the one you're looking at makes it harder to value.
