Re: Looking to purchase a WK

We've got an 06...it's been trouble free and a very good truck. Check for leaks underneath, especially at the rear axle. Check for transmission cooler line leaks at the radiator (hard to do if the dealer has cleaned under there), and listen for any noises while on the road. If it doesn't feel right, or it doesn't sound right it probably isn't! If at all possible, shop private owners first. Dealers are terrible. I'd also recommend a V8 if you can. The 3.7 is not exactly "fun" like the V8's are.

Re: Looking to purchase a WK

Find a dirt lot and test the 4wd system to make sure everything engages and sounds right, if QDI or QDII equipped. There have been common front hub issues with the earlier models that have required replacement. The one on my 05 was replaced by the original owner, showed up on the Carfax, & my bother had to have his replaced on his 05, both under warranty. Of course the 05's were the first run and had a few more bugs. Get as much maintenance and service history as possible. The 08-10 have the updated front, which I kinda like better. My mom was looking at a new 2010 Limited and it made my Limited look base model with things like rear camera, auto lift-gate, keyfob, touchscreen Nav, suede center seat sections, Gen2 Hemi, heated rear seats, tip start... (drool)

Don't get me wrong, I still love my 05'. But I have had to replace a battery($135), starter($110), & leaking transmission cooler lines($230 w/labor) this year. Which is acceptable at 83k.

Re: Looking to purchase a WK

Check out East Hills out in the island, they have an enormous selection. I'd say go with an 08 hemi, i waited a little and didnt settle for no sh*t the stealership tried to give me and i found what i wanted. Check cars.com etc thats where i located my white 08 hemi limited loaded. Check out the front end when you drive, make sure theres no excessive dip around turns or a clunk, then you might need sway bar links or bushings, ball joints etc. if theres a sunroof make sure theres no leak damage, make sure the seat heaters work etc. Go over everything. Besides mygig is the best thing ever its easy to use and accurate. I couldnt tell you how many times I would have gotten lost without that baby in there.

Re: Looking to purchase a WK

Dont go to westbury they have the worst sales personnel. Ive dealt with them and they are horrible, they try to rip you off anyway they can.

Re: Looking to purchase a WK

Tjhanks bro! well, im really looking to put on the suicide doors... haha just kidding.

Personally i'm a fan of the rough and rugged look, I definitely am looking to get rear and front bumper guards to protect my car in the city. as far as lighting goes still unclear as what my options are...

O, and the wood grain panels have to go, they remind me of my parents headboard and furniture from the 70's.

^^^nice

Now just lift it an then your bumpers will be higher then everyone else. Lol.

Checkout the matrix front guard from 4xguard. That way your cousin can't say your copying him. Haha.
