Re: MDS Disable = 2mpg loss

Hey 08Hemi, I just noticed you're in Santa Barbara. That's where my 06 GCO came from. Mine was a one owner with all the GPS info. still in memory. They obviously made many trips to the San Diego area down the 101 and 405 highway/freeways. Funny how these things make it to states 1000 or more miles away from their origin.

Re: MDS Disable = 2mpg loss

Wanted to do a good tune up since I just got the Jeep and it's almost ready for the 60k mile service. SO I put in new plugs today, and while I was at it a new EGR valve.
Gas mileage seems to have improved by a couple miles per gallon, but I only went through a couple tanks since I got it.
The EGR valve is a piece of cake to change, just a couple tips, remove the air filter box for easier access, and you will have to unbolt the alternator and nudge it out of the way because one bolt holding the EGR valve on won't come out unless you do.
The spark plugs are fairly easy too, just time consuming because there is so many of them. You will need a couple 3" or so extensions, as the access isn't so good for a few plugs and you basically have to connect the extensions to the socket as you insert each piece into the hole.
