I just had these same symptoms. Turns out, my transmission cooler hoses were leaking and I had a leak in my transmission pan gasket so the fluid was a bit low. I had these problems fixed and....no more stalling/rpm drop. I would take a look at those hoses and around the transmission pan to see if the fluid is low. Even if it looks ok on the stick, it may be a little bit low which would cause issues.

Funny, I just had those issues fixed as well. Cooler lines and pan leaks. The level is spot on now. I could add maybe a 1/4 qt more, but I dont think it needs it.

The software updates seemed to have helped. At least it hasn't full on stalled yet.
