Re: MPH expectations with an 05 5.7

I don't drive too aggressively, I mean not yet anyways......I don't have a CAI or an exhaust yet so what the point right? Can't hear anything. LOL.

Most likely I'll do a quick repaint so everything is fresh at that point too.

I bought my 05' last year with 117k. I got 131k right now. I changed the spark plugs, but I'm going to change them again with NGK or something better. The ones I bought are Okay, but are recommended.

The stock Champion plugs are best for the Hemi. IF you think NGK is better than Champion, more F1, top fuel NHRA and Nascar teams use champion over any other plug.

ok, i just had an exhaust installed, single magnaflow 22" split into duals out the back, had an unexpected surprise, getting over 20mpg on the highway at 65-70 mph since and around town is 17-18.

Re: MPH expectations with an 05 5.7

What were you getting before you put in the Flowmaster mrmotoguzzi00? An improvement like that over what I am getting now (which is not totally abysmal but could stand improvement) would pay for itself I would think. Is it a simple muffler swap or is there more to it?

Aha mrmotoguzzi00, just saw your other thread about what you did (dual exhaust). More than just a muffler - lol. Very sweet!

Re: MPH expectations with an 05 5.7

nspsend, I was getting 12 in the snow, 14-15ish around town and 16-18 highway with the cruise on at 65 or so...

since the exhaust upgrade i went to 20+ at 65 on cruise, 17ish around town... I'm pretty happy about that!

And I love the sound
