Muffler Advice 4.7L

Anybody know of a muffler that sounds mean at the higher RPMs but doesn't have the annoying drone at lower/medium RPMs? Something to make my jeep sounds vicious but not annoying for long distance.

I have a flowmaster 50 and it is pretty quiet until I step on it. I know a lot of guys around have the 50 and love it.

Re: Muffler Advice 4.7L

I've read a lot about the magnaflow but all the videos are only when people are flooring it so they don't really help. I'll look into the flowmaster though.

Re: Muffler Advice 4.7L

I had a pair of Magnaflows on a Mustang GT a couple of years ago and they were just what you're looking for. Try this site for exhaust sound clips:

Re: Muffler Advice 4.7L

most a/m mufflers are gonna give ya massive drone without a resonator. Talk to sleep4.7 or search his posts for 4.7 muffler recomendations...or I like the no muffler and resonator only setup on my Jeep...and it has 0 drone

Re: Muffler Advice 4.7L

I run a 18in magnaflow on my 4.7, it sounds really mean when I get on it and its quiet for daily driving, it does drone around 2k but I think you will get that problem with most mufflers if you don't put a resonator on. It doesn't bother me, and for the $105 I paid shipped for a stainless magnaflow it was well worth it.

Re: Muffler Advice 4.7L

I've got a fm delta 40, drones like a biatch, but I've gotten used to it, sounds awsome in my opinion.

Flowmaster 50 series SUV performance is the best IMO.
