Re: My first WK Oil Change

Thanks to those for the information on the oil drain with nipple I ordered one earlier tonight. I drive about 900 miles a week which makes for alot of oil changes in the drive. This will make life easier and cleaner.

Not sure what you run, but your a great candidate for synthetic oil and a good filter - wix, napa gold, k and n, top end fram, or amsoil. You can put your changes out to 10k miles. Driving that much you'd save on oil and labor changing the oil... not to mention all the waste oil.

Re: My first WK Oil Change

i would switch to M1 extended performance with a mopar filter to get 10k out of your changes or amsoil if you want to pay alot more.

Re: My first WK Oil Change

Those quick drain valves are pretty slick, but I just can't overcome the price for an additional 10 seconds of work. I've got my oil changes down to a science so I can place my drain pan in the exact location and not spill a drop. I wear some nitrile gloves that get a little messy when I remove the drain plug, but I think I'm still coming out ahead!

Re: My first WK Oil Change

I woulld never use a drain valve just to save a few seconds 2 or 3 times per year. You will definitely lose your engine if it fails. No automaker would ever use one as OEM for that reason. IT takes all of 5 seconds to remove a good old drain plug which will never fail.
