Join it if you have horrible gas milege... love it, hate it... who cares... i wanna know your gas mileage and what kind of tires/lift/lower/rims/cai/twin turbo... WHAT EVER you are running OFF ROAD thumbsup, ON ROAD cool... lets hear it!!!
I HAVE AN 06 WK 4.7 AND I GET 14.5 MPG ON AVERAGE. EVERYTHING IS STOCK EXCEPT A PIECE OF SHIT PERFECTLY CLEAN K&N AIR FILTER THAT I'M CONVINCED DOES SOMETHING BUT REALLY DOESN'T. WHO NEEDS FOSSIL FUEL ANYWAY. TO BE HONEST, I'D RATHER HAVE MY JEEP RUN ON :boobies:.
This time of year, I average 12-13 US MPG combined city hwy. I usually mash it from a red light/stop sign, otherwise it would be slightly better.
My 4.7 WJ was 14-14.7 in winter.
I bought this GC because I have owned/driven Jeeps for close to 40 years, and I wouldn't own anything else.
Fuel mileage is never part of the equation for me. I have to run premium fuel, and pay $1.22 per litre, which is close to $5.00/gal. I'm not rich, just love driving, especially Jeeps.
14.5!!!! THATS AWESOME!!!! In my 2007 4.7 i was getting 11.0MPG with a AFE CAI and flowmaster weld in 50 suv muffler/superchip tune. 90% city driving though. Now in my hemi im getting 9.4MPG on 89 octane but im currently testing a tune, have to datalog...
I have a 2001 WJ Limited 4.7L with a probably dirty fram TG air filter and running on Dueler AT Revo 2s 245/70/R17 and I do mostly city driving with my foot on the floor. I get about 13mpg on 89 octane.
PS I really don't give a damn, if I couldn't afford it or didnt need the capabilities of the jeep i'd drive a f***ing smart car...
16.5 during spring summer fall and struggle to get 15.0 during winter. i have a k&n replacement filter and stock air box mod. cold doesn't help much ecspecially when you have to leave it run and warmup.
I'll get about 14.5 in my 3.7 during the winter, and about 16.5 in the summer. Mine is an all stock 4x4 minus the drop in k&n filter. Although I drove from Omaha, ne to my parents place in Atlanta, ga this week and averaged 21 on the highway so I was happy with that!
2005 - 4.7l - last fillup calculated at 13.5mpg EVIC is at like 15.3mpg (last tank was alot more city driving with the holiday family jumping). Generally I drive about 30miles freeway and 10miles city a day, I drive 65-75 on the freeway, but I rarely stomp on it, I usually creep out of lights and stop signs.
2008 Grand Cherokee with 3.0 Diesel - 18 mpg in town, 25-27 hwy. Stock wheels, hell, stock everything right now except K&N intake. Love this Jeep. Get this, it has 7500 lb towing capacity to boot - surprised they didn't make more GCs with the MB diesel.
I can live with the 20 hwy mpg I get now, but city mpg is horrible on these things, even with a light foot and with the price at the pump nearing $4 here again, I'm really tired of it. I'd sell mine in a heartbeat to get something more reliable and fuel efficient, but resale value, depreciation is one of the worst of any vehicle. Just glad I didn't get the SRT, as I imagine city mpg has to be under 10.

The fact that you can get a 10 yr old 7 series bmw for as much as your grand cherokee should make you happy with what resale value yours does have considering getting a car that costed over 100k back then... there is much worse resale
yours 45k (guessing), current value 15+k (guessing), 30k depreciation divided between 5 years and your looking at 6k a year...
2001 bmw 7 series 105k (guessing, wife has a co worker who has one and was friends with the original owner, a student from dubai). current value 15+k, 90k depreciation divided between 10 years and you have 9k dollars.
It could be worse, and there is much worse.
btw I think toyota is having a huge sale on their prius
Im getting about 16.1 in my 07 4.7 v8 flex fuel but Im in south Florida, and I only punch it when I have to. Im completly stock also. Not for long, this month flowmaster series 50 and a superchip programer. Hopfly I see some change but not in the wrong direction.
2002 Grand Cherokee 4.7L V8 H.O. with 32'' M/T Tires, 4in lift, K&N 57 series FIPK CAI, all = to a whopping 9.5 MPG average . Honestly I don't care, But with rising gas prices...I wish my MPG would be better so I could have more mod money
I've heard some guys say that tuners or programmers actually help a little. I dont have one on my Jeep but maybe some of the guys who do may be able to chime in on this.
