Re: My Jeep In The Snow.. =[

sounds like you have the stock tires, on mine they were OK but I invested in some snow tires for my stock rims during the winter months and I feel like im driving in the summer with my 22s on. its pretty hard to get them to spin, unless of course your trying in a snowy parking lot! So something to think about, but as far as in your case w/o buying new tires im sure your jeeps fine. Just take it easy on that right foot man! but im with the others, your tires are probably worn down and when your driving on the snowy surface they just dont grip.

Re: My Jeep In The Snow.. =[

Wow im not the only one, I just came in from trying to go to the store, my Jeep wouldnt move, I fishtailed all over my parking spot, had to shovel myself loose and it still wouldnt move. I have stock tires also so I attribute it to that but I dont have the $$ to replace them yet so I parked it and came back inside. It was almost as bad as my mustang, traction control kept kicking too. Im so pissed off I dont even want to look at the Jeep right now. Even with stock tires I assumed the 4wd system would be enough to get me through some snow but I was wrong.

Re: My Jeep In The Snow.. =[

Any 4 wheel drive system is only as good as the traction you have at each wheel. The QD2 is an unbelievable system but if you attempt to run summer performance tires on it in the snow, you might as well stay home. Same goes for any of the other current Jeep tcases and diffs. Worn tires are something no vehicle can over come when it comes to driving in the snow.

Re: My Jeep In The Snow.. =[

Get some Blizzaks on that puppy for winter use only!

With ESP on mine won't fishtail or slide out when using the pedal on the right. With ESP off she will spin like a top.

Keep ESP on unless your stuck in the snow.

Tires are the most important thing on your Jeep or on any vehicle!

Re: My Jeep In The Snow.. =[

I had the same traction issues with the origional tires and 60,000 miles. 2 months ago I bought a set of General Grabbers and the problem was solved. It now handles snow and ice better then when it was new.
