Navigation disc error ??

Hi
I don't know where to post this exactly ...
But I think everybody has had once the same problem
My REC/REJ nav can read the disc anymore I have the nice message impossible to read disc"
I've tied dvd cleaning disc .. no result
I've tried to clean the dust with canned air .... no result
I've burned a copy of my original nav disc .. no result

Is there anything special with this navigation system??
And how can I get it working again

Any advice is welcome

Re: Navigation disc error ??

I had the same problem. I saw in another forum that Infra Recorder DVD software can fix the problems. I tried it and worked. FIrst I saved the ISO copy to my hard disk and burned the new disk from hdd. They claim it fixes the errors when copying. You need a dual layer dvd. I am not sure which software you used to copy your dvd but give it a shot it may work.

Re: Navigation disc error ??

I 've done the same , but with nero software . and some DL DVD, the original DVD has no scratches , and no errors on both .
I think the lens is dirty , but is there any simple way to clean it without dismounting?

Re: Navigation disc error ??

There are lens cleaner kits that you can buy for DVD and CD players, but I am not sure how well they would work.

Some of them only have the cleaning bristles on a certain track, which won't work for the GPS disc reader, as it only reads the start of the disc and then throws an error if it doesn't find what it's looking for. It would need the cleaning bristles at the start of the read location.

I would first try just shooting some compressed air in there.

If you can't repair the Navigation radio, you can upgrade to the new nav. I have a 2008-2010 MyGig RER with Uconnect mic & GPS antenna for sale that was purchased from justforjeep if anyone interested. $625 Shipped

Re: Navigation disc error ??

common problem, the disc is worn, as did mine. I downloaded from the web on a DL DVD with all the new updates and works like a charm.
