Re: need advice please! !

Pull the abs fuse, TC off.

It depends if you want to shift it or not as the 05 will hold a gear until it rev limits. If you like to shift use it, if not use D. Then put the hammer down. I use D as my trans is tuned to shift at 6,500. Your best bet is to experiment and see what is best for you and your setup.

Re: need advice please! !

I just went to the drags yesterday, and didn't shut anything off or pull the fuse....my bad, as it may have made some difference. I run in "D" with 6200 RPM shift points, and 6500 RPM rev. limit (FRI Sidewinder cam), and start from idle...no stall speed, stock torque converter. Beat a POS stock ricer, a Turbo Volvo S70, a Turbo Buick Grand National, and a POS Ford truck.

Re: need advice please! !

Escape can probably add more, but on the LX's we used to pull the ABS/Trac. Control fuse so it wouldn't activate during launch, thereby slowing you down. It was more of a problem with 2WD vehicles because you'd really have to learn how to launch without a lot of wheelspin. On our relatively stock 4WD Wk's, wheelspin shouldn't be that big an issue, but it could help somewhat. I haven't looked to see which fuse it is in FCM, but I am sure Escape can let us know. Next time out, I'll give it a try.

Escape, can you completely shut of the TC by holding the button until the chime? On my LX you can't (only partial shutoff), unless it's an SRT. I am hoping the WK's allow for a complete shutoff.
