New keys

I just bought a 2009 WH Limited from an insurance damage auction and wondered the best place to by new transmitter/keys for it. I know I will have to get it programmed by the dealer but here they want $570 AUD for each transmitter and another $120 to program each one! Was hoping that maybe I can at least get cheaper transmitters from the US?

Re: New keys

I have been told their are serveral types out there for the 2009 model. How will I know which one suits mine before hand? The build sheet gives a code GXM Remote Keyless Entry.
The only ones I have seen on eBay so far you needed two working keys to program them as well. Can you buy new original ones as well on eBay as worried the dealer will not program aftermarket ones?

Re: New keys

I sent out a question to I think to 8 different vendors selling them on eBay and included my VIN and the part number that the dealer here has listed for my WH. All that bothered to even reply said I could not use the WK one.

Re: New keys

I personally think those guys are full of shit. I dont see any reason why a WK key wont work on w WH. I got the tan key above that i posted and it works great for my wk.

Who knows what they have done different? Don't forget that my WH is not even made in the USA but in Austria.

Re: New keys

in austria???
oh well, i don't if this will help in any way but i bought an uncut key from ebay a while back. they sell it with an empty casing. It was just an uncut key and casing was hollow, with nothing in it, i mean no microchip board, no rubber button for locking and unlocking. so if you are buying on ebay be utterly certain that what you are buying really is what you think it is. cuz guys over there can really act like bi**hes...
good luck
