New Owner, Few Questions!

Hey guys, my names Nathan, I just bought my 2005 Grand Cherokee Loredo about two weeks ago, im coming off a 2006 Acura TL. I moved on from the car phase and wanted a nice suv for the 4x4 because im a member of our local volunteer fire department and will need it for responding in the winter.
I am about to put new tires on it for winter, im wondering what you guys suggest in the term of size and tire. I know I can go with stock size but if I can go a bit bigger to better fill out the wheel wells ill go for it.
My second and final question is about the blank accessory slots below the radio, I want to mount switches in them for my emergency response lights. I was behind there to tap into switched power for my radio and pagers but I didnt see how to get into those empty spaces to use them for switches, any tips?
Thanks guys! Took a while for me to find this forum, I came from a great acura forum, hope you can help!

Re: New Owner, Few Questions!

I put 245/75R17 Cooper Discoverer AT's on mine....it's rides a bit rougher but has some good tread and wear characteristics.

our member jdubya did a "how to" on this application with the blank ports below the radio...

How to "activate" a switch blank '08+ (radar detector hardwire remote mute/LEDs)

and timmyb also did some LED changing located here:

Installed LEDs in Heater Control/Buttons

either way gl!

Re: New Owner, Few Questions!

Thanks alot guys! So far im not missing the acura at all, I really thought I would. I spent alot of time modding that car, and had a great time with it, but starting college, a new job, and being a fire fighter I feel like I grew outta that phase. Heres a link to a thread I made on Acurazine with pics, not sure if you guys can see the link if ur not a member but its worth a try! Mine is the one with the black rims. http://tl.acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=787161
