I am in my 3rd week of owning a 2005 Grand Cherokee Hemi. I am in need of new tires and I am wondering what everyone is running. I plan to do a little off road and towing a boat. The size I have is 245/65/17 but I read I could fit 255/60/17 or even 265/60/17 since they are same height but almost a inch wider. Keep in mind I have to use a Firestone card due to low cash on hand. ..

I run 255/65/17 General grabber at2's. Great tire in all conditions and decent price.

I would really advise sticking to street tires as best as possible. Much like the compromise made with all-seasons, something that's a streetable off-road tire, or vice versa isn't going to be particularly great at either task. Unless you're dead set on off roading quite a bit, I'd highly recommend picking up a second set of off-road only wheels and tires. They'll also last much longer.

I've had the destination AT on mine and the wife has the destination....idk what they are called... All seasons? Both do very well on road wet/dry, hers doesn't go off road, mine does well in all but deep/loose mud. Her tires are slightly quieter than mine. Both are wearing well. I give them both 2 thumbs up.

I ended up going with the Bridgestone Dueler Revo 2. So far they are nice and quiet and the ride is great. Haven't taken it off the road yet but from the tread pattern it looks like they would do good. I live in Cocoa Florida so there aren't any Trails out here that I know of to test them out.
