New WK owner 07 JGC Overland

I picked up a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with 47k on the odo in black a few weeks ago and I am loving it so far. It has just about every option one could want and I am impressed with the 5.7 Hemi! I was a little disappointed though when I mashed the pedal the other night from a stop though. It feels like in 1st gear it is only at 3/4 throttle and it picks up significantly in 2nd. I plan on doing the TB ground mod but I figure this is something in the cpu that limits the throttle probably to save the drive train. Maybe a programmer can get around this?

What are the essential things to do for these cars? I would like to get a CAI to get rid of the bulky stock system. I read some people don't see much of a difference though. If I get a exhaust I will probably go with a Magnaflow since I have had great results from them on other cars I have owned. I am undecided about lifting it at this point.

I know all the tips and tricks for the XJ since I also own a 99 XJ with 187k on the odometer. That thing is a tank and keeps running like a top. I never got the mod bug with the XJ because it is built so good stock. Even in stock form I have had a lot of success off road with it with minor carnage.

Looks like you guys have a great site. I will continue to look around and search.

If you want performance then why lift it? Lower it!

I haven't decided which route to go yet. I might just lift the XJ and I'm still contemplating a LS swap. Lowering a truck or suv in my area isn't a smart thing to do! I don't need it to carve corners. I've been down the race car road several times and asuv can't compare. Just wanted to DD to have a little extra power if I need it

Re: New WK owner 07 JGC Overland

that is why SRT springs are great, only lowers one inch. doesnt look stupid, just reduces the wheel well gap a bit and improved handling
