Newbie Help

I just picked up a 2005 WK 4.7 and need to know what length the proper hood strut is supposed to be. The one on there now, i believe is the wrong length because my hood only opens maybe a foot. This isnt even enough room to get my head in there. PLEASE HELP!!!!

StrongArm 6304 Jeep Grand Cherokee Hood Lift Support, Pack of 1 : Amazon.com : Automotive

That's the part you need. Literally take 1 minute to replace, all you need is a flathead screwdriver.
