And your hesitation is like Scott said... Throttle by Wire. Gotta love it. Try to rev it up in park... It will just go to 3000rpms.

I run RP 9000 miles between changes and lose about 1/4 qt in that mileage. 3000 mile intervals are only for dino, full synth. lasts 7500-10000 miles.

I am anal about my oil changes. It pains me to go 3000 miles. I would never run my vehicle 7500 miles between oil changes.

Re: Newbie! Need Help with oil and gas choices

Just realized your at 61k, next oil change run a can of seafoam. That alone will probably help you get some power and mileage back alone! Seafoam is an additive which you can add to fuel, oil or theough the vacuum line. It will clean your fuel lines, crap in the oil lines and well as (if you run through a vacuum line) all the carbon build up in your cylinders! Its a great product and only runs 10 bucks a can

Symth oils last long and lubricate well for a long time, as the synthetic long chain hydrocarbons are do not break down so soon, as happens with the CH molecules in natural crude oil; it is just throwing money away to change it at 3000 when it is still perfectly good, and with a hemi that is a lot of quarts to buy.
The owners manual says to change regular dino at 7500 intervals.

I will keep throwing my money away. At 3000 miles my oil is black and dirty. My oil no matter what the specs say will never exceed 3000 miles.

It's like roast beef in the fridge. After a week I could still eat it and not die, but why take the chance and get sick... lol

Re: Newbie! Need Help with oil and gas choices

You can get an oil sample for like 25 bucks and they can break it down for you and see what's up with that!

Also how often do you change your filter? Every oil change?

Yes the filter is changed with every oil change. Diffs every 30,000 and tranny at 60,000.
