Re: Next mod... CAI... which one? Voland, K&N, Air Raid?

I'd stay away from K&N and any other manufacturer that uses and oiled filter. I've read way too many times that an oiled filter can cause damage to the internals of the motor (probably more long-term). IMO you can't go wrong with a dry filter.

I know there's only a handfull of college football teams that know what it's like to go 0-fer on a season.

The UW Huskies do... So how's it feel?

Now back to the originally scheduled programming...

Question... will I get any noticeable performance gains from a ported TB and CAI - but no exhaust or tuning?

^^^^LOL....thats gonna be a matter of opinion as well. When my engine was stock.....I added an intake and fastman tb. The engine felt a little better in the mid-high rpm's. The superchips really made a difference with those two. But honestly...its not gonna be a dramatic increase.

I agree...It wont be much, but it will be something! I think I can tell the difference in the sound more than the "butt dyno"!

Dont get me wrong...I def think you should get them both!

this was more on MAF vehicles. But if over-oiled.......it could hurt I guess

Not sure... you could always get a K&N and just replace the filter with a dry one. But filters are around 50 bucks, so that may seem like a waste (unless you could sell the K&N and get a large chunk of change back).

Re: Next mod... CAI... which one? Voland, K&N, Air Raid?

I have the K&N CAI on my 5.7L and so far I love it. But to be fair, I have never had any other vehicle with a CAI so I've basically nothing to compare it to.

It has been on about...oh, between 4000 and 6000 miles I believe--about 5 months. I've never had a problem in the rain or snow and I've driven in plenty of both in the last month.

Re: Next mod... CAI... which one? Voland, K&N, Air Raid?

Since I want an enclosed unit but don't want the fitment issues of the Volant on my 5.7, I'm getting the Airaid MIT, which just replaces the restrictive stock tubing while retaining the stock airbox. Then, since I'm not a fan of oiled filters, I'll get a drop-in Amsoil Ea Air Filter. It's supposed to flow AND filter better than all other filters.

Doing this should provide great flow and the enclosed filter element is nice if you like to get the Jeep dirty.

Hey Guys,

Which CAI do you all recommend for a 3.7?
