NV245 Transfer case oil options?

Am in the process of doing a complete fluid change on a 5.7 Hemi with QuadratracII and the specified oil for the transfer case is Mopar NV245/247/249 however I can only find one supplier in the UK and he is asking for $45 a litre!!

I have heard somewhere that Mobil 424 is the same stuff but I cannot find a supplier so can anyone recommend an alternative to the very over-priced Mopar stuff?

Thanks

In fact the mopar stuff is made by Mobil as Mobil424. Mopar doesn't make oils, but buy it from oil companies and put their name, P/N and "special" price to it. Amsoil has also a fluid with the same specs. You will only need a bit less then two litres.

For transfer case fluid. We don't get Mopar but some Fiat alternative it's Tutella something. You only need to satisfy the right fluid norm, not a special brand and the should not be a problem.

Re: NV245 Transfer case oil options?

What are you using in your transmission? I know the service manual stresses using only mopar and other very specific fluids, but I want to put royal purple in mine.

can't tell you for royal purple. The one I've used are from dealership, but was not Mopar but a equivalent form Fiat Group supplier, I've checked that the oil was according to the special Jeep spec that's all
