OEM or aftermarket TPS?

i did a search and couldnt find anything..

i think my TPS is taking a dump on me so im obviously going to replace it. however, an OEM is $87 shipped and i havent priced an aftermarket like a borg-warner unit. i ran a borg-warner (think it was less than $55 with a 2 yr warranty) on my XJ when its TPS took a dump- just wondering if anyone runs an aftermarket unit on theirs?

symptoms why i point to my TPS:
- it takes 3/4 to almost full throttle to get her to downshift to another gear
- jumps to the next gear rather quickly cause her to lug the higher gear till i floor it to make her downshift to get her *** up to speed
- throttle response down right sucks bag

shes got 68k on her.

Re: OEM or aftermarket TPS?

That's weird, my hemi was just being similar. I cleaned the TB-and it really wasnt even that dirty and it cured it. I was starting to think about checking into the updated throttle pedal I read about, but It's fine now. Could be as simple as that.

I think he was talking about the throttle position sensor...Not the tire pressure monitoring system. Valid point though!
