Re: Off road help

Wow all i asked for was a simple 2" lift suggestion lol I know my Jeep doesnt have the most hp but it handles fine and im not planning on driving to the top of the rockies just want something simple. Looks like OME is the best option. Still one unanswered question, can my bilsteins stay or will they have to go?

Re: Off road help

If you get the OME kit, you will be replacing both shocks and springs. So either have a winter setup and summer setup.. lol. Or just sell off your on-road stuff.

Like others had mentioned... Your V6 once you put bigger tires is going to be sapped of power. Might want to look into go fast goodies as well.

I'm still not 100% sure about this just trying to weigh my options. Thanks in advance.
Ive got the RRO 2.25 lift and I like it, it's fine for me since I don't plan to do any hardcore off-roading, I just wanted some lift. If your bilsteins are fairly new then I don't think you'll have any problem adding the lift.I added my lift with the stock shocks and I didn't notice any problems. Don't let people put you down because you have QT1, I think the QT1 is a good system along with BTCS. You just work with what you got and enjoy your jeep. Good luck.

I probably came on a little too strong. What you're saying now is what I said 15 years ago. Not everyone gets bit by the trail bug, but if you do, you can waste a lot of money by going from 2" to 4" to lockers yada yada yada.

I spoke with a local owner of an offroad outfitting shop. They guy told me that a GC should be lifted no more than 2" any further than that would send the alignment to hell. I have no idea about the validity of these claims but the guy refuses to install anything higher than 2" on a GC. He's got years of experience and well thats another concern im looking into for a 4" lift.

You would need an alignment after the lift install but a 4" lift won't prevent you from getting a good alignment. There are plenty if us running 4" Superlifts and BDS lifts that have no alignment problems
